COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Foundation Year program is structured to gradually develop students’ knowledge and technical skills over four stages of study. In the foundation year, students build a strong grounding in key areas such as digital technologies, electronics principles, and electronic devices and circuits. They also learn introductory programming, programmable logic controllers, applied analytics, and problem-solving techniques while developing academic and teamwork skills through group projects. In the first year of the main degree, students establish a solid base in mathematics, computer systems fundamentals, and core electrical and electronic engineering principles. They also gain practical experience in programming with Embedded C, signals and systems, and workshop skills for electronics. In the second year, the course deepens students’ understanding of electrical engineering, electronics, and digital systems. Students study topics such as transducers and signal conditioning, distributed intelligence systems, and engineering project management, while also completing collaborative group projects that strengthen practical and teamwork skills. In the final year, students focus on more advanced engineering subjects including power electronics and drives, programmable logic controllers, electronics, and electronic systems design. The program culminates in a major independent project where students apply their knowledge to solve real-world engineering problems, often linked to industry challenges, preparing them for professional careers in electrical and electronic engineering.
