COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA Leadership and Management Skills for the Workplace program is structured over three years to develop both foundational and advanced leadership abilities. In the first year, students build essential skills in communication, problem-solving, digital literacy, teamwork, and enterprise, with modules including Academic Skills, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Effective Team Working and Communication, Digital Skills, Employability and Career Development, and Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. This year establishes the core tools needed to succeed academically and professionally, fostering creative thinking and practical workplace capabilities. The second year focuses on applying leadership concepts in organisational contexts, with modules covering project management, emotional intelligence, organisational culture, stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and managing business information. Students gain a deeper understanding of workplace dynamics, learning to lead and manage individuals and teams effectively. In the final year, the program addresses advanced topics such as strategic management, innovation, design thinking, and leading change, preparing students to tackle complex, real-world challenges. An independent project allows students to apply their learning to a specific topic or organisational challenge, consolidating their practical and analytical skills. By the end of the program, graduates have a comprehensive set of transferable leadership and management skills, practical experience, and strategic understanding, equipping them for career progression and effective performance in diverse professional environments.
