COURSE CURRICULUM

The Automotive and Transport Design program is structured to progressively develop students’ creative, technical, and professional skills over three years. In the first year, students are introduced to the fundamentals of automotive design through traditional techniques such as drawing and clay modelling, alongside digital tools like computer-aided design and virtual reality. They work on projects that emphasise designing vehicles that are both functional and visually appealing while studying modules such as Vehicle Technology, 3D CAD and visualisation, and Automotive Design Techniques. In the second year, students build on this foundation by advancing their digital modelling and visualisation skills using industry-standard tools. They engage in more complex and collaborative projects, including designing vehicles across land, sea, and air, while also focusing on creativity, value creation, personal branding, and professional practice. The third year centres on career preparation and industry readiness, with a strong emphasis on real-world experience. Students undertake major independent and research-driven design projects that integrate their learning and showcase their creativity and technical expertise. By the end of the program, students develop a strong professional portfolio of innovative and sustainable designs, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to pursue careers in the automotive and transport design industry.
