COURSE CURRICULUM

The Archaeology with Ancient Egyptian Culture BA program provides a comprehensive study of Egypt’s material culture, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through core modules in archaeology and the humanities, learning essential archaeological methods while exploring Ancient Egyptian culture and its artefacts. Optional modules allow students to study topics such as death and burial, ancient art, hieroglyphs, myths, and field-based projects, helping them apply theory to practice. In the second year, the program deepens understanding with a focus on specialized topics including the archaeology of conflict, human evolution, and the interactions between the Aegean and Near East. Students examine how the past is represented in modern culture through museum studies, heritage, and material culture, while gaining practical experience in excavation, fieldwork, and professional placements. In the final year, students undertake an independent research project, allowing them to investigate a chosen area in depth and apply advanced skills in heritage, museum practices, and material culture. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on combining academic study with hands-on learning, enabling graduates to develop analytical, research, and practical skills. By the end of the program, students are well-prepared for careers in archaeology, museums, heritage management, and related sectors, equipped with the knowledge and experience to engage critically with the past and its ongoing influence.
