COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Accounting program is structured to progressively develop students’ knowledge and skills over three years. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in key business and accounting concepts, including financial accounting, management accounting, economics, and business organisations. They gain an understanding of how businesses operate and how financial principles are applied in real-world situations. Modules such as Learning in the Digital Era, Entrepreneurial Innovation, Finance for Business, Marketing Fundamentals, People and Organisations, and The Changing Business Environment help students develop essential business knowledge and digital awareness. In the second year, the focus shifts to more advanced topics, strengthening analytical and technical accounting skills. Students study financial reporting, financial performance management, taxation, corporate finance, and accounting software, while also learning about legal frameworks through contract law. The Changemakers: Creativity and Value Creation module encourages innovative thinking, and students may also have the opportunity to participate in an international mobility program. In the final year, students deepen their expertise in areas such as financial management, auditing, corporate governance, and corporate reporting with social responsibility. They also complete an independent project and engage in practical learning through live projects and consultancy work. This final stage prepares students for professional accounting examinations and careers in accounting and finance.
