COURSE CURRICULUM

The Satellite Communications Engineering MSc provides a comprehensive exploration of both fundamental and advanced concepts in satellite communications, combining theoretical understanding with practical application. In the first semester, students focus on core modules in digital communications and satellite communications fundamentals, while also selecting from optional modules such as RF systems and circuit design, satellite remote sensing, and artificial intelligence of things, allowing them to tailor their studies to specific interests. The second semester builds on this foundation with advanced satellite communication techniques and core modules in research, professionalism, and innovation, complemented by optional modules covering data and internet networking, space avionics, antennas and propagation, network security, and microwave design techniques. Across the academic year, students engage in a 60-credit standard project, providing an opportunity to apply knowledge to real-world challenges, develop problem-solving skills, and gain hands-on experience with satellite communication systems. The program equips students with technical expertise in satellite system design, signal processing, and network architectures, as well as professional skills necessary for careers in satellite manufacturing, telecommunications, space agencies, and research institutions. By blending theory, practical skills, and independent project work, the course ensures graduates are well-prepared to contribute to the rapidly evolving global satellite communications industry.
