COURSE CURRICULUM

The Pharmaceutical Sciences MSc is structured to provide students with a thorough understanding of the key aspects of drug development, formulation, and analysis. In the first semester, students focus on modern pharmaceutical technologies and advanced pharmaceutical formulations, gaining insight into the latest techniques used in drug design and manufacturing. This includes understanding how drugs are engineered for optimal efficacy, stability, and patient compliance, while also learning practical skills in formulation development. The second semester builds on this foundation, covering drug discovery and medicinal chemistry, which introduces the principles of identifying and optimizing therapeutic compounds, and pharmaceutical analysis and quality assurance/quality control, which ensures that drugs meet stringent safety and efficacy standards. Throughout the course, students engage with practical laboratory work, experimental design, and analytical techniques, fostering hands-on expertise that is essential for professional practice. The MSc also includes a substantial science project, allowing students to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world research challenges, develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and contribute to innovative pharmaceutical solutions.
