COURSE CURRICULUM

The Nanotechnology and Renewable Energy MSc provides a comprehensive foundation in nanoscience, nanotechnology, and renewable energy systems, preparing students for careers in sustainable energy and advanced materials. In the first semester, students study core subjects including Nanoscale Science and Nanotechnology, which covers the fundamental properties and applications of nanomaterials, and Renewable Energy Technologies, exploring current and emerging solutions in clean energy. Optional modules such as RF and Microwave Fundamentals, Life Cycle Thinking and the Circular Economy, and Foundations and Frontiers of Sustainable Development allow students to tailor their learning according to their interests and career goals. In the second semester, the program emphasizes applied skills through modules in Nanoelectronics and Devices and Battery and Electrical Systems, equipping students with hands-on experience in energy storage and electronic applications. Additional optional modules, including Semiconductor Devices and Optoelectronics or Wind Energy Technology, further broaden expertise in specialized areas of renewable energy and nanotechnology. Across both semesters, the Research, Professionalism and Innovation module develops critical research, professional, and innovation skills, culminating in a 60-credit Standard Project that allows students to undertake a significant research or development project. This combination of theoretical knowledge, practical application, and project-based learning ensures graduates are well-prepared for careers in renewable energy, nanotechnology, or further research.
