COURSE CURRICULUM

The Intelligent Communication Systems and Networks MSc offers students a comprehensive education in modern communication technologies integrated with artificial intelligence, preparing them for careers in advanced networking, wireless systems, and cybersecurity. In the first semester, students build a strong foundation through core modules in digital communications, wireless communication principles, and the fundamentals of machine learning for communications, ensuring they understand both theoretical and practical aspects of the field. Alongside these compulsory modules, students can tailor their learning by selecting optional modules such as RF systems and circuit design, artificial intelligence of things, and cloud computing, allowing them to develop specialised skills in areas of personal or professional interest. In the second semester, the focus shifts to network planning and management, supported by a core module in research, professionalism, and innovation, which equips students with critical research, analytical, and professional skills necessary for tackling complex real-world problems. Optional modules in the second semester include cloud security, network security, antennas and propagation, data and internet networking, and advanced wireless technologies, offering further opportunities to deepen technical expertise. Across the academic year, students undertake a 60-credit standard project that integrates learning from both semesters, providing hands-on experience and fostering independent problem-solving and project management skills. By the end of the program, graduates are well-prepared to enter industry or research roles in AI-driven communication networks and related fields.
