COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Resource Management MSc provides a comprehensive and practical approach to understanding the strategic and operational aspects of HR within contemporary organisations. In the first semester, students develop a strong foundation in core areas including contemporary employment relations, leadership and management, HR in the business environment, research methods and analytics for HR, and employment law. These modules equip students with the knowledge and analytical skills necessary to navigate complex workforce dynamics and to understand the legal, social, and economic factors influencing HR practices. In the second semester, the focus shifts to human resource development, employee resourcing, and the continued study of employment law, enabling students to apply theoretical insights to practical HR challenges such as talent management, recruitment, training, and organisational development. Across both semesters, students engage in an applied research dissertation and a module on developing HR management and leadership skills, which foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional competencies. Optional modules allow for further tailoring of the program to individual interests. Through a combination of academic rigor and practical application, graduates emerge equipped to assume strategic and operational HR roles, contribute to organisational success, and excel in diverse professional environments both nationally and internationally.
