COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Nutrition MSc offers a comprehensive and research-led program designed to provide students with an advanced understanding of nutrition science and its practical applications. In the first semester, students build a strong foundation through core modules including fundamentals of human nutrition, nutritional evaluation and assessment, metabolic nutrition, and nutrition research methodology. These modules equip students with the theoretical knowledge and analytical skills necessary to assess dietary intake, understand metabolic processes, and conduct rigorous scientific research. In the second semester, the curriculum expands to explore international and public health nutrition, molecular nutrition, sports and exercise nutrition, and nutrition professionalism in practice, allowing students to apply their knowledge to diverse populations and practical contexts. Central to the MSc is the research project, which provides students the opportunity to design and undertake original research, integrating both theoretical insights and practical skills. Progression to the research project requires students to achieve a minimum of 15 credits in the first semester and maintain an overall pass mark of 50 percent across all modules, ensuring they are prepared for independent, high-quality research. By completing this program, graduates gain the expertise to pursue careers in clinical nutrition, public health, sports nutrition, food and health industries, or advanced academic study, with the ability to critically evaluate evidence and contribute meaningfully to the field.
