COURSE CURRICULUM

This master’s program in economics provides students with a comprehensive and advanced understanding of both theoretical and applied aspects of the discipline, equipping them for careers requiring high-level economic analysis and research skills. In the first semester, students develop a strong foundation through core modules in microeconomics, macroeconomics, advanced quantitative methods, and econometrics, enabling them to understand the behaviour of individuals, firms, and economies, as well as to apply rigorous analytical and statistical techniques to economic problems. The second semester builds on this knowledge, advancing students’ understanding of macroeconomic and microeconomic theory while deepening their expertise in econometrics, and offering optional modules in areas such as firms and markets, international finance, international trade, financial theory, and central banking, allowing students to tailor their studies to their specific interests and career goals. Across the year, research methods training ensures students are equipped to design and conduct independent economic research, critically evaluate data, and draw evidence-based conclusions. By combining theoretical knowledge, quantitative skills, and practical research experience, the program prepares graduates for roles in government, financial institutions, consultancy, international organizations, and policy-making, as well as providing a strong foundation for further doctoral study in economics.
