COURSE CURRICULUM

The Behaviour Change MSc is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of behavioural science through a combination of theoretical study, practical application, and research training. In the first semester, students focus on qualitative research methods, contemporary health psychology, and the interdisciplinary perspectives of philosophy, politics, and policy that influence behaviour. This foundation is complemented by optional modules such as advanced research training and design, allowing students to deepen their methodological skills. In the second semester, the program emphasizes quantitative research methods, digital technologies and their influence on human behaviour, and consumer behaviour, equipping students to analyse and interpret behavioural data across different contexts. Additional optional modules, including cognitive behavioural therapy for health psychology, positive development across the life course, and the psychology of architecture and planning research, provide opportunities for specialised learning tailored to individual interests. Across both semesters, students undertake a year-long dissertation, which consolidates their research skills and allows them to investigate a real-world behavioural challenge in depth. By combining rigorous methodological training with applied research and theoretical exploration, the program ensures graduates are prepared to design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions, making them highly employable in roles that require behavioural insight, policy development, and interdisciplinary problem-solving.
