COURSE CURRICULUM

The MFA Acting program at Guildford School of Acting offers a comprehensive two-year curriculum designed to develop highly skilled, versatile, and confident performers. In the first year, students focus on building core acting competencies through compulsory modules in stage acting, screen acting, vocal technique, and movement technique, ensuring a strong foundation in physical and vocal expression, character development, and performance adaptability. Semester two emphasizes rehearsal and performance, allowing students to apply their technical skills in practical settings and gain valuable experience collaborating with peers on productions. In the second year, students advance to more complex and professional-level training, beginning with collaborative public performance and pedagogies in semester one, which develop both creative collaboration skills and an understanding of teaching and facilitation practices. Semester two focuses on advanced professional practice, providing insight into sustaining a career in the competitive performing arts industry, and includes intensive work on creating new productions for stage and film, encouraging experimentation, innovation, and critical engagement with contemporary performance. Throughout both years, students participate in practical workshops and performances that foster resilience, adaptability, and professional resourcefulness.
