COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Interpreting provides a structured and comprehensive program that equips students with advanced skills across multiple interpreting modes, including consecutive, dialogue, and simultaneous interpreting. In the first semester, students engage in core modules such as Consecutive and Dialogue Interpreting I, Simultaneous Interpreting I, and Principles and Challenges of Translation and Interpreting, which provide both practical and theoretical foundations. Optional modules, including additional language interpreting, translation as human-computer interaction, and an introduction to artificial intelligence for translators and interpreters, allow students to tailor their learning to emerging industry needs and technological advancements. In the second semester, students continue to develop their expertise through Interpreting and Technologies, Consecutive and Dialogue Interpreting II, and Simultaneous Interpreting II, focusing on applying skills in real-world and technologically enhanced environments. Optional modules in this semester cover public service interpreting, additional language practice, and audiovisual translation, further broadening professional competence and versatility. Across both semesters, the Translation and Interpreting Studies Dissertation provides an opportunity for students to undertake in-depth research, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. By completing this program, graduates gain a strong command of contemporary interpreting practices, technological proficiency, and the analytical skills necessary to excel in professional and international interpreting careers.
