COURSE CURRICULUM

The Film, Animation and Digital Arts MSc provides a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to the study and practice of moving image arts. In the first semester, students engage in Creative Media Practices I, which introduces foundational skills and techniques in media production, fostering creativity and technical proficiency. This is complemented by Creative Media Practices II in the second semester, which builds on the initial skills while encouraging experimentation and the application of advanced tools and technologies in film, animation, and digital media. Across both semesters, the program emphasizes critical and contextual understanding through the Moving Image Arts - Contemporary Contexts module, which situates students’ practical work within the latest developments, theories, and trends in the media industries. Collaborative Projects allow students to work alongside peers, simulating real-world production environments and enhancing teamwork, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. The Final Masters Project provides an opportunity for students to synthesize their learning, undertaking an original, independent project that demonstrates their technical expertise, creative vision, and research abilities. Throughout the course, students are exposed to emerging technologies such as virtual production, performance capture, synthesis, and real-time visual effects, ensuring they are industry-ready. By integrating practical training with theoretical insight, the program equips graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in contemporary film, animation, and digital media industries or pursue further research and creative development.
