COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Psychology degree offers a structured pathway through the study of human behavior, cognition, and mental processes, supported by strong training in research methods and data analysis. In the first year, students are introduced to the foundations of psychology through modules in biological, developmental, cognitive, and social psychology, alongside personality theory and the psychology of global challenges, while also developing skills in statistics and research. The second year builds on this knowledge with advanced modules in biological, cognitive, developmental, and social psychology, complemented by personality, intelligence, and psychopathology. Research expertise is strengthened through advanced statistics, qualitative methods, and professional skills training, helping students apply psychological knowledge to practical contexts. In the final year, students undertake a dissertation, allowing them to conduct independent research in an area of interest, supported by a broad range of optional modules. These include clinical psychology, forensic psychology, health psychology, neurodevelopmental conditions, education, language and communication, brain injury and ageing, public policy, and applied areas such as game design and real-world behavior change. The course equips students with a comprehensive understanding of psychological science, critical research skills, and applied knowledge, preparing them for careers in psychology and related professional fields.
