COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Physics program provides a comprehensive foundation in the core principles of physics while gradually introducing advanced concepts and specialized areas. In the first year, students focus on the fundamentals, building essential knowledge through modules such as Fundamentals of Physics, Essential Mathematics, Scientific Investigation Skills, and Oscillations and Waves, followed by The Universe, Properties of Matter, Atoms and Quanta, and Mathematical and Computational Physics. This ensures a strong grounding in both theoretical and practical aspects. The second year advances into more complex areas including Energy, Entropy and Numerical Physics, Electromagnetism, Solid State Physics, and Quantum Physics, with further exploration of Atoms to Lasers, Electromagnetic Waves, and Nuclear and Particle Physics. Students also have the option to branch into subjects such as Astronomy or Fluid Dynamics, allowing for individual academic interests to shape the learning journey. In the final year, the program emphasizes specialization and research, with compulsory study in Frontiers in Physics and a major Final Year Project, supported by a range of optional modules. Choices include topics such as Quantum Computation, Superconducting Quantum Processors, Semiconductor Devices, Advanced Nuclear Astrophysics, Medical Imaging, and STEM Education. This structured yet flexible curriculum develops analytical, mathematical, and research skills, preparing graduates for diverse careers.
