COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Event Management BSc (Hons) degree provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the events, hospitality, and visitor economy, combining practical skills with theoretical knowledge to prepare graduates for a successful career in this dynamic industry. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules on services marketing, event operations, fundamentals of service delivery, and the visitor economy and business environment, alongside financial accounting, private event design, business data projects, and sustainability in events and hospitality. In the second year, students gain hands-on experience through live event projects focusing on planning, marketing, delivery, and evaluation, while developing skills in managing organisations, human resources, venue management, applied financial management, digital marketing, and data analytics. Optional modules in this year allow exploration of visitor attraction management, hospitality and events field trips, and intercultural management to broaden practical exposure. In the final year, the focus shifts to strategic and research skills with modules in strategic management, business research methods, and event innovations. Optional modules allow students to explore leadership, MICE, digital events management, consultancy, strategic brand management, industry readiness, start-up ventures, and AI applications in the visitor economy. The program integrates real-world projects, industry insights, and strategic thinking, equipping graduates with the expertise, creativity, and adaptability to become leaders in international events and hospitality sectors.
