The International Airline and Airport Management BSc (Hons) degree provides a comprehensive understanding of the aviation and travel industries, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills essential for a career in airline and airport management. In the first year, students explore foundational concepts such as the visitor economy, service delivery, airline and cargo operations, airport operations, financial accounting, tourism, and sustainability in aviation and tourism. Year two builds on this knowledge with modules on managing organisations and human resources, applied financial management, revenue management, airline management, airport management, and digital innovation, while offering options like intercultural management, visitor attraction management, and aviation field trips to enhance practical experience. The final year focuses on strategic and research skills, including business research methods, strategic management, strategic planning in aviation, and innovations in the sector. Optional modules such as strategic revenue management, crisis management, leading services organisations, business plan development, consultancy for the visitor economy, AI and strategic foresight, and tourism in the space economy allow students to tailor their learning to specific interests and career aspirations.
