COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng Electronic Engineering degree offers a comprehensive and practical approach to understanding modern electronic systems and technologies. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in essential engineering principles, studying electronic circuits, computer and digital logic, electrical science, programming in C, and engineering mathematics, alongside practical laboratory sessions that develop hands-on skills. The second year advances technical knowledge with modules in circuits, control and communications, engineering mathematics, computer algorithms and architecture, and electrical science, while optional modules allow students to explore specialized areas such as electronics and photonics devices, space engineering, computer vision and graphics, C++ programming, and computer networking. Laboratory and design work continues to support practical application of theoretical concepts. In the final year, students focus on professional engineering skills and undertake a substantial individual project, applying their learning to real-world problems. Optional modules in the final year allow further specialization in digital communications, digital signal processing, RF and microwave fundamentals, nanoscience and nanotechnology, control engineering, power electronics, robotics, semiconductor devices, VHDL digital design, and data and internet networking. This combination of theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and optional specialization equips graduates with the technical expertise and professional skills required for careers in advanced electronics, communications, robotics, automation, aerospace, and related industries, while also preparing them for further research and development in cutting-edge technologies.
