COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for careers in modern electrical and electronic engineering. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules in electronic circuits, computer and digital logic, programming in C, electrical science, and engineering mathematics, complemented by laboratories and professional studies that develop hands-on and professional skills. The second year deepens technical expertise with advanced subjects such as circuits, control and communications, electronics and photonics devices, electrical science II, computer algorithms and architecture, and continued laboratory work, along with optional modules like C++ and object-oriented design or computer networking for specialization. In the third year, students consolidate their learning through engineering professional studies and a major final-year project, while exploring advanced topics including digital communications, fundamentals of digital signal processing, RF and microwave fundamentals, nanoscale science and space system design. Semester two emphasizes control engineering, power electronics, and electrical machines and power systems, equipping students to understand and design complex electrical systems. The program balances theory, design, and practical application, ensuring graduates are capable of addressing emerging technological challenges in diverse industries such as communications, energy, automation, robotics, and electronics, and are well-prepared for professional engineering roles or further research.
