COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng Computer and Internet Engineering degree provides a comprehensive education in both computer engineering and internet technologies, equipping students with the skills needed to succeed in the rapidly evolving IT sector. In the first year, students develop a solid foundation in electronic circuits, computer and digital logic, engineering mathematics, programming in C, and electrical science, while also gaining practical experience through laboratory and professional design projects. The second year builds on this foundation with advanced topics in circuits, control, communications, computer algorithms, architecture, and networking, complemented by optional modules in computer vision, C++ and object-oriented design, and computer security. Practical design work continues to reinforce theoretical learning. In the third year, students focus on engineering professional studies, data and internet networking, and undertake a significant year-long project, which integrates their knowledge and skills in a real-world context. Optional modules allow specialisation in areas such as digital communications, digital signal processing, computer vision, computational intelligence, robotics, privacy technologies, ethical hacking, and digital design with VHDL. Throughout the course, students gain experience in problem-solving, system design, software development, and network implementation, ensuring they graduate with the technical competence, analytical skills, and practical experience required to contribute effectively to the future of internet-connected systems and cutting-edge IT projects.
