The BA Theatre Production degree at Guildford School of Acting provides a structured and progressive approach to developing practical and professional theatre skills across three years. In the first year, students gain a solid foundation in essential production techniques through compulsory modules such as Video for Performance, Design Realisation, Foundations of Theatre Production, Introduction to Scenography, Lighting for Performance, Sound for Performance, and Stage Management. These modules introduce students to the technical and creative aspects of theatre, ensuring a broad understanding of production processes. In the second year, the focus shifts to developing professional competence and practical experience through modules in Production Roles, Professional Development, and Specialist Studies. These courses allow students to take on more responsibility in production settings, build technical expertise in chosen areas, and engage with industry-standard practices. In the final year, students advance their skills further with modules in Advanced Production Roles, Advanced Specialist Studies, and Advanced Professional Development. This stage emphasizes leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to manage complex productions, preparing students for professional practice. Across all three years, the program integrates practical application, technical training, and professional development, equipping graduates with the comprehensive skills, confidence, and industry experience required for careers in theatre, live performance, and related creative industries.
