In the first year of the MSc Nursing Practice (Adult) program, students engage in comprehensive modules designed to develop essential clinical knowledge and practical skills necessary for effective adult nursing practice. The "Adult Nursing in Practice 4,5,6" module, which carries 20 credits, focuses on hands-on clinical experience, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world healthcare settings. This intensive practice component is vital for building confidence and competence in delivering patient-centered care across various adult nursing contexts. Alongside practical training, the module on "Human Factors, Risk, Decision Making and Uncertainty," also worth 20 credits, explores the critical elements of patient safety, effective decision-making, and managing risks within complex healthcare environments. This module emphasizes understanding how human factors impact clinical outcomes and equips students with strategies to navigate uncertainty and make informed, ethical decisions under pressure. Additionally, the "Physical and Mental Health Assessment, Pathophysiology and Prescribing Preparation" module, a substantial 40-credit component, provides an in-depth study of the physiological and psychological aspects of health and disease. It also prepares students for future prescribing responsibilities by covering essential assessment techniques, pathophysiological processes, and relevant pharmacology.
