COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Forensic Science course is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of forensic methods and their practical application across three terms. In the first term, students focus on foundational topics such as contemporary issues in forensic science, statistical approaches in forensics, and methods of crime detection. Alongside these core subjects, students begin their independent research project, which spans the entire course, allowing them to apply their learning to a specific area of interest. The second term continues the independent research project and introduces specialized scientific subjects including forensic biology and forensic chemistry. These modules deepen students’ knowledge of the biological and chemical aspects of evidence analysis, equipping them with critical skills to analyze complex forensic data. The final term emphasizes practical support alongside the completion of the independent research project. This term is designed to consolidate students’ hands-on skills and apply theoretical knowledge in simulated forensic scenarios, preparing them for real-world challenges in forensic investigation and evidence processing.
