The first year of the MSc Computer Games Design program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop advanced skills in game design and research. Students begin with modules like Advanced Game Design and Research, which provide a strong theoretical and practical foundation in designing engaging and innovative games. Advanced Prototyping allows learners to create early versions of games, focusing on rapid development and iterative testing to refine gameplay concepts. The Game Feel and Polish module emphasizes the importance of fine-tuning games to enhance player experience, addressing elements such as responsiveness, feedback, and overall immersion. Central to the course is the Game Master Project, a substantial 60-credit module where students apply their knowledge to a major project, simulating real-world game development processes and collaboration.
