COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop students' technical knowledge and practical skills in the field. In the first year, students focus on fundamental principles through core modules such as Applications of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Engineering Design and Practice, Engineering Mechanics, and Engineering Professional Development. These modules provide a solid foundation in electrical and electronic engineering concepts and prepare students for more advanced study. In the second year, the course deepens students' understanding with modules covering Circuit Design, Modelling and Manufacturing, Control System Analysis, Digital Electronics Principles and Applications, Electrical Machines, Embedded Systems Programming and Applications, Engineering Mathematics, and Engineering Product Commercialisation. This combination develops expertise in both theoretical and practical aspects of engineering, including digital systems, control theory, and embedded programming. The third year focuses on advanced topics such as Advanced Communication Systems, Advanced Digital Electronics, Advanced Power Electronics, Modern Power Systems, Power Semiconductors, and Real-Time Embedded Systems Design and DSP Applications. Alongside these, students complete an Engineering Project, which allows them to apply their accumulated knowledge to a significant piece of independent work. Throughout the degree, students gain hands-on experience with industry-relevant technologies and methodologies, preparing them for careers in sectors like automation, power generation, telecommunications, and embedded systems design.
