COURSE CURRICULUM

The Automotive and Motorsport Engineering degree program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the mechanical and electronic principles underpinning modern vehicles. In the first year, students focus on fundamental engineering subjects such as electrical and electronic engineering, engineering design and practice, mechanics, thermofluids, and vehicle principles, alongside professional development to build a solid foundation. The second year delves deeper into automotive-specific topics, including automotive technology and aerodynamics, electric vehicles, engineering mathematics, product commercialization, mechanical design and structures, as well as vehicle dynamics and noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). This combination equips students with knowledge of both traditional and emerging vehicle technologies. In the final year, the curriculum emphasizes applied learning with modules on applied automotive and acoustics engineering, computational fluid dynamics, manufacturing technology, structural analysis, and a major engineering project that allows students to integrate and apply their knowledge to real-world challenges. Throughout the course, students gain hands-on experience using industry-standard tools and techniques, preparing them for careers in the automotive and motorsport sectors. This blend of theoretical study, practical skills, and professional development ensures graduates are well-equipped to meet the demands of the fast-evolving engineering industry. Upon successful completion, students are awarded a BEng (Hons) Automotive and Motorsport Engineering degree.
