COURSE CURRICULUM

The Aeronautical Engineering degree offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop essential skills and knowledge for a career in aerospace. In the first year, students focus on foundational subjects such as Aerospace Engineering Principles, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Thermofluids, Engineering Design and Practice, and Applications of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. These modules introduce the core engineering concepts and practical skills necessary for more advanced study. The second year builds on this foundation with specialized topics including Aerodynamics and Propulsion, Flight Dynamics and Control, Control System Analysis, Mechanical Design and Structures, Engineering Mathematics 2, and Engineering Product Commercialisation. These modules deepen understanding of aircraft systems, propulsion technologies, and the mathematical tools needed for engineering problem-solving. In the final year, students apply their learning in advanced modules such as Aerospace Engineering Applications, Aircraft Design Group Project, Applied Computational Fluid Dynamics, Structural Analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and a significant Engineering Project. These components provide hands-on experience and enable students to work collaboratively on real-world challenges, preparing them for professional practice. Throughout the course, there is a strong emphasis on combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills, supported by industry-standard tools and project work. The program equips students to analyze, design, and develop aerospace systems and prepares them for roles in aircraft design, propulsion, flight control, and structural analysis within the aerospace sector.
