COURSE CURRICULUM

The Music and Sound course offers a comprehensive three-year program designed to develop both creative and technical skills essential for a career in music and sound production. In the first year, students focus on foundational skills through modules such as Creative Applications of Digital Audio Workstations, Introduction to Studio Practice, and Music and Sound Theory and Context. These courses provide essential knowledge of audio technology, music theory, and practical studio experience, alongside understanding the business aspects of music with a dedicated Music Business and Marketing module. The first-year Music and Sound Project allows students to apply their learning in a substantial practical project, setting a strong base for future work.In the second year, students deepen their expertise with a continued Music and Sound Project, enabling them to explore more advanced production techniques. The Sound Design in Visual Media module introduces students to creating audio for film, television, and games, blending creative sound design with technical application. Alongside this, Studio Practice provides hands-on experience in professional studio environments, further refining students’ practical skills.The third year consolidates learning through the final Music and Sound Project, a significant opportunity for students to showcase their talents and produce a polished portfolio. This is complemented by a Written Research Project, which encourages critical thinking and the ability to articulate theoretical and contextual knowledge in sound and music studies. Throughout the course, students engage with both practical and academic approaches, preparing them for diverse careers in sound production, design, and the music industry. Upon completion, graduates will have developed a balanced skill set that combines creativity, technical proficiency, and industry understanding.
