COURSE CURRICULUM

The film production course offers a comprehensive, practice-focused learning experience designed to equip students with the creative, technical, and professional skills needed to thrive in the industry. In the first year, students explore the foundations of filmmaking through modules such as Creative Film Contexts, Fiction Filmmaking, Film and Media Professional Development, and Non-Fiction Filmmaking. This introduces them to storytelling techniques, industry practices, and both narrative and documentary production, helping them develop a versatile skill set. In the second year, the focus shifts toward more advanced and applied work, with modules including Client Filmmaking, Creative Filmmaking, and Professional Filmmaking Practice. These give students the opportunity to work on real-world briefs, collaborate with clients, and refine their craft in a professional context while experimenting with their creative style. The final year is dedicated to large-scale, independent and collaborative projects, with Filmmaking Project 1 and Filmmaking Project 2 allowing students to produce high-quality work that showcases their abilities across multiple production roles. The Media Employment Project supports career preparation, encouraging students to develop professional portfolios and industry connections. By the end of the course, graduates will have a strong portfolio, practical filmmaking experience, and the confidence to pursue careers in film, television, branded content, or other creative media industries.
