COURSE CURRICULUM

The Animation degree is structured to develop a strong foundation in both the artistic and technical aspects of animation over three years. In the first year, students focus on core skills such as Animation Principles, exploring the fundamental techniques that bring characters and stories to life. The Animation World module provides a broad overview of animation styles and practices, while Character Creation helps students develop unique and engaging characters. A study of Human Anatomy and Movement is included to deepen understanding of realistic and believable character motion. Moving into the second year, students build on these foundations with more advanced work. The Animated Stories module hones storytelling skills, essential for creating compelling narratives in animation. The two Animation Experts modules allow students to specialize or deepen their knowledge in specific areas of animation practice. Team Animation introduces collaborative work, reflecting real industry environments where animators must work closely with others on projects. In the final year, students engage in more independent and professional practice. The Animation Passion Project offers the opportunity to develop a personal animation project, allowing students to apply their skills creatively and express their individual voice. The Animation Pipeline module focuses on the technical workflow and processes needed to complete professional animation productions efficiently. Through the Animation Pitch, students develop their ability to present and sell their ideas, an important skill for the industry. Finally, the Animator Profile module helps students prepare for employment by creating a professional portfolio and showcasing their best work. Together, these modules provide a comprehensive education that balances artistic creativity with practical industry skills, preparing graduates for careers in animation across film, games, advertising, and other media.
