COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Mobile Communications and Smart Networking combines core and optional modules to develop advanced knowledge and skills in wireless engineering. Core modules include Digital Coding and Transmission, which explores information transmission techniques over digital channels applicable to communications, control systems, and distributed computing. Signal Processing covers analogue and digital filter design, system design theories, and statistical signal processing concepts. Simulation of Mobile Communications focuses on essential Matlab-based simulation skills, providing a foundation for other modules, while Wireless Transceiver Design and Implementation introduces the principles and techniques for designing transceivers, covering digital modulation and detection methods. Research Methods and Project Preparation equips students with the necessary skills to plan and execute their MSc Project and Dissertation, allowing them to conduct in-depth research under supervision. Optional modules offer specialization opportunities, including Advanced Systems and Signal Processing, Advanced Wireless Communications Networks and Systems, Future Wireless Techniques, and Machine Learning for Wireless Communications, all of which address cutting-edge developments in communication theory, network design, and emerging technologies such as 6G and intelligent network optimization. Additional options, including Cryptography and Wireless and Mobile Networks, provide expertise in secure communications and network protocols. Together, the program integrates theoretical knowledge, practical simulation, and research experience, preparing graduates to excel in the design, implementation, and optimization of modern and future wireless communication systems.
