COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc International Security and Risk program offers a comprehensive understanding of contemporary global security issues and risk management. Core modules such as Contemporary Security Challenges, Security Theory, and Principles of Risk Management equip students with critical insights into the political, social, and theoretical aspects of modern security threats. Foundations of Cyber Security introduces the technical, legal, and policy dimensions of digital security, while the dissertation allows students to conduct independent research on a specialised topic of interest, demonstrating their analytical and research abilities. The course encourages interdisciplinary thinking and practical application, integrating perspectives from international relations, political science, and risk analysis. Optional modules enable students to tailor their studies, exploring areas such as China’s role in global politics, international development, migration policy, governance, and decision-making under uncertainty. Students may also study international social policy or the political psychology of crises and conflicts to deepen their understanding of global governance and human behaviour in crisis situations.
