COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in International Accounting and Governance equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in global finance, accounting, and governance. Core modules include a dissertation, which allows students to conduct an extended independent research project within accounting, finance, and management, enhancing analytical, research, and critical evaluation skills. Other key modules provide foundational understanding in financial and management accounting, enabling students to critically assess the preparation of financial statements and the use of accounting information in managerial decision-making. International Corporate Governance explores contemporary issues in corporate oversight and regulation, while Executive Compensation examines the ethical, regulatory, and economic implications of executive pay. Islamic Accounting, Finance and Governance introduces the principles of ethical financial management and governance in Islamic institutions, broadening understanding of alternative financial systems. Students also study research methods through Foundations of Research in Accounting and Finance, which strengthens their ability to engage with academic literature and develop evidence-based insights. Optional modules allow for further specialisation in areas such as Accounting for Corporate Performance, Financial Reporting and Markets, International Accounting and Taxation, Sustainability Accounting and Reporting, Emerging International Green Accounting Technologies, and Sustainable Finance. The program combines theoretical understanding with practical application, preparing graduates to critically evaluate and implement accounting, finance, and governance strategies in an international context, while developing skills relevant to diverse sectors and global economies.
