COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in E-textiles and Wearable Technologies program provides a comprehensive curriculum that blends design, engineering, and scientific approaches to wearable technologies. Core modules begin with an introduction to e-textiles, covering the fundamentals of electronics, textiles, and hybrid materials, including conductive and sensing technologies. Research Methods and Academic Skills equip students with the tools to rigorously evaluate their ideas for innovation, societal and environmental impact, and market potential. The E-Textile Design module develops critical understanding of good design practices, incorporating performance, user-centered approaches, aesthetics, ethics, and sustainability. Advanced E-textiles in Wearable Technologies builds on this foundation, enhancing practical skills and knowledge of materials, technologies, and processes applied across diverse market sectors. The Group Design Project fosters interdisciplinary collaboration on live industry-based challenges, encouraging students to explore societal and environmental considerations, user needs, and market opportunities. The Final Project provides an opportunity for independent or industry-linked research, allowing students to conceptualize, design, manage, and realize a comprehensive e-textile project while demonstrating original thinking, technical proficiency, and professional skills.
