COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Civil Engineering program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and practical skills for addressing modern engineering challenges. Core modules include Advanced Structural Engineering, which covers the design and analysis of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel-concrete composite, and timber structures, and Project Economics and Management, which provides a systematic understanding of the financial, economic, and social aspects of civil engineering projects. Students also study Data Analytics in Civil, Environmental, and Energy Systems, gaining the ability to apply statistical modelling to solve engineering problems, and complete an independent MSc Research Project, fostering critical thinking, research skills, and effective communication of results. Optional modules allow students to specialise in areas such as Advanced Finite Element Analysis, Advanced Geotechnical Engineering, Coastal and Maritime Engineering, Earthquake Engineering and Seismic Design, Flood Modelling and Mitigation, Transport Management, and Energy Resources and Engineering, among others. These modules provide in-depth technical expertise, including the use of industry-standard software, practical design techniques, and sustainable engineering approaches.
