COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Design Management course offers a blend of core and optional modules that integrate creativity, strategy, and leadership within design practice. Core modules include Design and Project Management Methods, which develops professional and academic project management skills, and Contexts: Design Process and Innovation, which focuses on strategic design thinking in a global market. Design Management Principles and Practices explores the designer’s role as an agent of change, while Strategic Design Management deepens understanding of how design operates within business contexts. Leadership and Ethics cultivates innovative and ethical thinking for responsible design practice, and the Final Project: Critical Paper allows students to demonstrate their expertise through an independent research project addressing real-world design management issues. Optional modules enable specialization in areas such as Creative Thinking and Problem Solving, Digital Cultures, Entrepreneurship, Experimental Publishing, and Global Marketing. Students can also explore Sustainability in Business and Design, Visual Culture, or gain hands-on experience through Professional or Collaborative Projects. Collectively, these modules equip students with a balanced combination of creative, analytical, and managerial skills, preparing them to lead design-driven innovation and sustainability initiatives across industries and global markets.
