COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM Maritime Law program at the University of Southampton offers a comprehensive exploration of legal principles and practical applications in the maritime and international commercial sectors. Core modules such as Admiralty Law: Enforcement of Maritime Claims and Admiralty Law: Principles and Liabilities provide students with an understanding of the enforcement of claims, ship arrest procedures, and the regulatory frameworks governing shipping, highlighting the critical role of international standards and the International Maritime Organization. Marine insurance is covered in detail through modules on Marine Insurance: Cover and Practice and Marine Insurance: Law and Principles, examining risk management, English law principles, and global practices.
