COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB Law with Psychology degree at Southampton provides a unique combination of legal and psychological education, allowing students to develop expertise in both fields. In the first year, students study core law modules including Constitutional and Administrative Law, Contract Law, Environment, Sustainability and International Law, and Legal System and Reasoning, alongside foundational psychology modules such as Introduction to Psychology, with optional modules in Behavioural Neuroscience and Individual Differences. In the second year, students continue with essential law modules including Criminal Law, Land Law, and Tort Law, while choosing psychology options such as Developmental Psychology, Introduction to Health Psychology, Perception, and Social Psychology, enabling them to explore human behaviour, development, and social processes. In the final year, students study advanced law modules like Equity and Trusts and European Union Law and the UK-EU relationship, alongside specialized psychology options such as AI Applications in Psychology, Building Digital Health Interventions, Childhood Maltreatment and Mental Health, Moral Psychology, Social and Affective Neuroscience, and Psychology of Advertising. Students also complete Legal Research and Writing through a dissertation, integrating research skills from both disciplines. The program equips students with critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills, while offering practical experience through projects, research, and applied modules, preparing them for careers in law, psychology, or interdisciplinary roles that combine both areas.
