COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Physics degree offers a comprehensive study of fundamental and advanced concepts in physics, equipping students with analytical, mathematical, and computational skills essential for a wide range of careers. In the first year, students cover core subjects including electricity and magnetism, energy and matter, motion and relativity, waves, light, and quanta, along with essential physics skills in experimentation, programming, and data analysis. Mathematical methods, linear algebra, and optional modules such as astronomy, lasers, and machine learning provide a strong foundation for further study. In the second year, students progress to classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum physics, statistical mechanics, and wave physics, with opportunities to explore optional topics including galaxies, medical physics, global sustainability, energy, and advanced mathematical techniques. The third year emphasizes specialization and independent research through modules such as atomic physics, crystalline solids, nuclei and particles, and the BSc final year project, while optional modules allow in-depth study of advanced quantum physics, cosmology, lasers, nanoscience, quantum optics, particle physics, relativity, space plasma physics, stellar evolution, and other interdisciplinary areas. The program integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience, preparing graduates for research, technical, or professional careers and fostering the skills necessary to tackle complex scientific problems and contribute to modern physics.
