COURSE CURRICULUM

The three-year Neuroscience and Biosciences degree provides a comprehensive study of biological and neurological systems, combining molecular, cellular, and physiological perspectives with an emphasis on understanding human health and disease. In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge in chemistry, cell biology, physiology, genetics, and scientific thinking, preparing them for advanced study. The second year builds on this foundation, covering the flow of genetic information, immunology, infection, inflammation, and neuroscience, while offering optional modules such as bioinformatics, pharmacology, global health, and developmental biology. Practical laboratory work and independent research projects reinforce theoretical learning and develop experimental skills. In the third year, students focus on advanced topics including cellular and molecular neuroscience, neuropsychiatric pharmacology, molecular pharmacology, systems neuroscience, and neurodegenerative disease. Elective modules allow exploration of areas such as biofilms, cancer biology, molecular recognition, microbiomes, science communication, and biomedical technology, enabling students to tailor their studies to individual interests.
