COURSE CURRICULUM

The Economics and Business Management degree combines economic theory with practical management skills to provide students with a deep understanding of how businesses and global economies operate. Core modules cover microeconomics, macroeconomics, management accounting, financial accounting, finance, and management principles, building a solid foundation for analysing economic behaviour and business performance. Students develop analytical and professional skills through dedicated employability modules and gain hands-on experience with case studies, group projects, and practical applications. Optional modules allow students to tailor their studies to personal interests and career goals, including topics such as international trade, behavioural economics, project management, risk management, public economics, and strategic operations management. Advanced modules in areas like human resource management, operations management, and decision-making equip students with the knowledge to manage complex organisational challenges. The program encourages independent research through a dissertation, where students conduct literature reviews and original research projects. Teaching is delivered through lectures and small-group classes, and facilities include the behavioural economics laboratory and the Financial Laboratory (FinLab), a realistic trading environment with detailed financial data.
