COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Audiology program provides a comprehensive education in the clinical, scientific, and professional skills required for a career as an audiologist. In the first year, students are introduced to the fundamentals of hearing science, technology, and the biopsychosocial aspects of audiology, while developing essential clinical skills through practical sessions and short placements. Students also gain experience as Hearing Care Assistants, allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. In the second year, learning progresses through extended clinical placements, consolidating practical skills and professional competencies, while covering adult audiological assessment and rehabilitation. Students also gain research experience through experimental audiology methods and may choose optional modules such as behavioural neuroscience, ethics in science, or perception. In the final year, students complete the remaining clinical placements, totaling 27 weeks, ensuring extensive hands-on experience. Clinical and professional practice is further developed, preparing students for independent practice. The program also includes an individual research project, allowing students to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills. Optional modules in paediatric audiology provide specialized expertise for those interested in working with children. Overall, the degree combines academic learning, research, and practical training to prepare graduates for successful careers in audiology, encompassing adult and paediatric care, clinical expertise, and professional development.
