COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Accounting and Taxation program provides a comprehensive foundation in accounting, finance, taxation, and management, designed to equip students with the technical knowledge, analytical skills, and practical understanding necessary for a career in business, finance, and the public sector. In the first year, students gain a broad introduction to key concepts including commercial law, financial and management accounting, economics, marketing, and management principles, alongside developing essential quantitative and analytical skills. The second year builds on this foundation with advanced modules such as financial accounting, management accounting, company law, principles of audit and taxation, portfolio theory, financial management, and specialised topics such as Islamic banking and sustainability reporting, providing insights into contemporary financial practices and public sector applications. In the final year, students consolidate their learning through advanced modules including financial accounting, management accounting, advanced taxation, auditing, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and strategic management, alongside a substantial accounting research project that develops independent research and critical thinking skills. The program emphasises ethical, responsible, and sustainable business practices, integrating real-world examples, case studies, and professional frameworks to prepare graduates for strategic roles in accounting, taxation, audit, and financial management across private, public, and non-profit sectors.
