COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Accounting and Finance program provides a comprehensive and structured pathway for students to develop a deep understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles across three years of study. In the first year, students are introduced to foundational concepts including financial and management accounting, commercial law, economics, management, marketing, and quantitative analysis, establishing a strong base for future learning. Year two builds on this foundation with modules covering company law, contemporary accounting issues, financial and management accounting, financial management, and portfolio theory, while offering optional modules in areas such as sustainability reporting, programming, human resource management, Islamic finance, and ethics to allow for specialisation and broader business knowledge. In the final year, students engage with advanced topics including financial accounting, management accounting, advanced taxation, auditing, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, risk management, and strategic management, alongside options such as futures and options, international banking, and digital marketing. A significant component is the Accounting Research Project, providing the opportunity to conduct independent, in-depth research. Across the program, students gain analytical, technical, and professional skills, preparing them for careers in accounting, auditing, investment, corporate finance, financial management, and related areas, while also laying a strong foundation for professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or CFA.
