COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree provides students with a strong foundation in the principles and applications of electrical, electronic, and mechatronic systems, preparing them for careers in industries ranging from robotics to power systems and communications. In the first year, students study core modules including circuits, digital systems, electronic devices, signals, control and communications, mathematics, programming, and engineering fundamentals, alongside laboratory work to apply theoretical knowledge. In the second year, the focus shifts to applied electromagnetism, communications, control and systems engineering, electrical machines and drives, materials, design, signal processing, and advanced programming and modelling of mechatronic systems, combining practical and theoretical learning to develop engineering problem-solving skills. The final year emphasizes advanced topics and hands-on projects, including mechanical power transmission, fluids and mechanical materials, power systems technology, and the Part III Individual Project, which allows students to undertake focused research and practical work in their chosen area. Optional modules in the third year allow further specialization in areas such as automotive systems, robotics, control system design, space systems, power electronics, and manufacturing. The program integrates theory with practical experience, equipping students with the analytical, computational, and design skills needed to develop and manage complex electrical and mechatronic systems in real-world applications.
