COURSE CURRICULUM

The Maritime Engineering course provides a comprehensive education in mechanical and naval engineering, preparing students for careers in ship design, ocean structures, and marine systems. In the first year, students develop a strong foundation in engineering design, basic naval architecture, data analysis and computing, electrical and electronic systems, mathematics, mechanics, thermodynamics, and professional development for maritime engineers. The second year builds on these fundamentals with modules in hydrodynamics, materials and structures, ship resistance and propulsion, ship structural design and production, ship design and economics, systems design for ships, and further professional development, combining theory with practical applications. In the final year, students focus on advanced topics including marine craft concept design, marine engineering, marine hydrodynamics, marine structures, ship manoeuvring and control, and an individual research project that integrates knowledge and skills from previous years. Optional modules include finite element analysis in solid mechanics, human factors in engineering, manufacturing and materials, and yacht and high-performance craft. Throughout the course, students gain hands-on experience in designing, analysing, and assessing maritime systems, while developing problem-solving, project management, and professional skills. The program prepares graduates for careers in naval architecture, marine engineering, offshore industries, and related fields, equipping them with both theoretical understanding and practical expertise.
