COURSE CURRICULUM

The Construction Project Management course offers a comprehensive exploration of the skills, techniques, and knowledge required to effectively plan, deliver, and oversee construction projects. Students begin with Project Management 1, focusing on fundamental principles and practices used to achieve successful outcomes, before progressing to Project Management 2, where they apply these skills to real-life project scenarios, developing practical problem-solving and decision-making abilities. The course also covers Law for the Built Environment, providing essential knowledge of legal frameworks relevant to construction projects, including contracts, regulations, and compliance. Sustainability is addressed through the Achieving Net Zero module, which examines strategies for reducing carbon emissions and implementing sustainable practices across construction and building operations. Students gain practical insights into Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems through the Management Systems for Project Managers module, learning how to apply these frameworks to ensure effective project delivery. The course integrates digital skills via the 3D Building Information Modelling module, teaching students to create and critically evaluate detailed 3D models using industry-standard software. Finally, the Individual Dissertation allows students to undertake an in-depth research project on a topic of their choice, synthesizing theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Graduates leave equipped with the technical expertise, managerial skills, and analytical abilities to lead construction projects efficiently, sustainably, and safely.
